CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Names for misdemeanor citations have been removed.
Disturbance and trespassing, near East Pershing Boulevard, Jan. 29, CPD
Cheyenne police arrested a 34-year-old man for trespassing and disturbing the peace after he refused to leave a local establishment near East Pershing Boulevard.
At 2:53 p.m., Officer Alarid responded to the Derby Club after staff reported the suspect refused to leave after being asked multiple times for pouring outside beer into a cup. Despite repeated explanations and requests to leave, the man remained uncooperative.
He was arrested, taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and booked on charges of trespassing and disturbing the peace.
Hit-and-run and following too closely, near Dell Range Boulevard, Jan. 30, CPD
Cheyenne police cited a 38-year-old woman for duty to stop after an accident and following too closely after a hit-and-run incident near Dell Range Boulevard and Rue Terre.
At 5:50 p.m., Officer Wright responded to a report that the suspect vehicle rear-ended another vehicle and fled the scene. The victim provided a description and license plate number, leading officers to locate the suspect, who admitted to the hit-and-run.
She was placed in handcuffs, taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and cited for both offenses.
Failure to comply and interference with a peace officer, near East Pershing Boulevard, Jan. 30, CPD
Cheyenne police arrested a 51-year-old man for failure to comply, failure to appear and interference with a peace officer following surveillance by the Crime Prevention Team.
At 11:18 a.m., Officer Rodgers stopped a gray Chevrolet Impala near East Pershing Boulevard and Henderson Drive after recognizing the suspect, who had two active misdemeanor warrants out of Laramie County. The man initially gave a false name but was identified later, with warrants for failure to comply and failure to appear on a possession of a controlled substance charge.
He was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center after being interviewed by detectives.
Destruction of property, near Van Lennen Avenue, Jan. 30, CPD
Cheyenne police arrested a 30-year-old man for destruction of property after he allegedly broke a neighbor’s door during a dispute near Van Lennen Avenue.
At 1:26 p.m., Officer McGraw responded to a report of a male suspect damaging a resident’s door in a shared stairwell. The victim reported ongoing harassment by her upstairs neighbor, including accusations of banging on the ceiling. Witnesses, including a school bus driver parked nearby, observed the man hitting the door with a hammer before retreating upstairs. The suspect later admitted to breaking the door but stated he regretted it afterward.
Neighbors confirmed the suspect frequently yells at the victim and others about noise, and the victim previously called police in July 2024 due to similar disturbances. Concerned for the safety of the victim and her property, police arrested the man and booked him into the Laramie County Detention Center on charges of destruction of property.
