CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Names for misdemeanor citations have been removed.
Drug Possession, Interstate 25, Feb. 4, WHP
A 22-year-old Greeley, Colorado, man is facing a misdemeanor count of possession of 3 ounces or less of a controlled substance in plant form after a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper pulled him over for speeding.
The trooper reported the man’s vehicle was traveling north on Interstate 25 at 100 mph in a 75 mph zone. In conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle, the trooper reportedly found suspected raw marijuana as well as liquid and wax forms of the drug. A bag containing a white substance was found with a strainer and distribution bags. The trooper also reportedly found a firearm and a suspected methamphetamine pipe.
The man was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
Aggravated Assault, East Pershing Boulevard, Feb. 4, CPD
Jackson Kye Woods, 25, of Cheyenne, is charged with felony aggravated assault with injury and misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and fleeing/eluding in his arrest on the 2400 block of East Pershing Boulevard.
Police said they were dispatched at 7:23 a.m. to a parking lot on the 2000 block of Dell Range Boulevard for a man down call. Responding officers said they found the man in his car in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running. He appeared to be passed out with a can of compressed air in his hand.
When an officer woke the man, he drove off. During the pursuit, police said the man drove recklessly into oncoming traffic, forcing vehicles to avoid him and nearly crash into other vehicles. When he crashed his vehicle, police said he ran until he was detained.
The man was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
Drug Possession, South Greeley Highway, Feb. 5, LCSO
Alyssa Faith Graupensperger, 33, a transient Cheyenne woman, was arrested on multiple drug charges just before 2 p.m. Feb. 5. A deputy responded to a trespass call on the 800 block of South Greeley Highway. Graupensperger was reportedly seen with white pills in her hand and appeared to be putting them into a glass pipe.
When the deputy approached Graupensperger, she attempted to destroy the pills by placing them into a cup with liquid, the deputy reported. After several commands to stop moving, she was taken out of the vehicle and detained. A K-9 unit was called and gave a positive alert on the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle found 0.3 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 18 pills suspected to be fentanyl, and 189.3 grams of liquid with 15 pills. A misdemeanor amount of suspected marijuana was also found under the driver’s seat.
Graupensperger had a warrant out of Laramie County for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled narcotic substance. She was arrested on her warrant and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance in pill form, misdemeanor possession of crystal methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
