DUI and Drug Possession, near Yellowstone Road, Feb. 9, CPD

Cheyenne police arrested a 20-year-old man for DUI, possession of marijuana and multiple traffic violations following a traffic stop near Yellowstone Road.

At 9:35 p.m., Officer Bolkovatz stopped a silver Infiniti for failing to signal a lane change. Upon contact, the officer detected the smell of marijuana and observed signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and slowed speech. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana an hour prior. A search of the vehicle revealed a THC vape pen, marijuana and paraphernalia.

The suspect consented to a blood draw before being taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and booked on DUI and drug possession charges.


DUI and Speeding, near Lincolnway, Feb. 9, WHP

The Wyoming Highway Patrol arrested a 25-year-old man for DUI and speeding after a traffic stop near Lincolnway.

At 9:03 p.m., Lt. Petruso stopped a vehicle traveling 45 mph in a posted 30 mph zone. Upon contact, the officer detected the odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath. The suspect refused to perform field sobriety tests but agreed to a breath test, which registered a blood alcohol content of 0.138%. He was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and booked on charges of DUI and speeding.


DUI and Traffic Violations, near East Pershing Boulevard, Feb. 9, CPD

Cheyenne police arrested a 49-year-old man for DUI and multiple traffic violations following a stop near East Pershing Boulevard.

At 11:23 p.m., Officer Peterson observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and neglecting to use a turn signal. Upon contact, officers noted the driver had watery eyes and the odor of alcohol on his breath. Standard field sobriety tests indicated impairment, and the driver initially declined a blood draw, citing medications.

A search warrant was granted, and a blood sample was obtained at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. The man was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and booked on DUI and traffic-related charges.


Public Intoxication, near West 6th Street, Feb. 9, CPD

Cheyenne police cited a 38-year-old man for public intoxication following a disturbance at a bar near West 6th Street.

At 11:23 p.m., Officer Hairston-Payton responded to a report of a fight at The Lamp Lounge. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect at a nearby bus stop, displaying signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and the odor of alcohol. Bar staff reported that the suspect had been involved in an altercation inside the establishment and had refused assistance after being found on the floor.

Witnesses also stated that he attempted to strike a bystander while leaving. The man was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and cited for public intoxication.


Resisting Arrest and Open Container, near Dell Range Boulevard, Feb. 8, CPD

Cheyenne police arrested a 45-year-old woman for resisting arrest, failure to identify herself and open container violations following a report of an impaired person near Dell Range Boulevard.

At 12:02 p.m., Officer Rodriquez responded to a call regarding a woman in possession of multiple open alcohol containers. When asked to provide identification, she refused and became argumentative. As officers attempted to place her under arrest, she pulled away, tensed her arms and resisted being handcuffed.

The woman was eventually restrained and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where she was cited for failure to identify, open container and resisting arrest.


DUI and Open Container, near South Greeley Highway, Feb. 8, LCSO

Laramie County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 35-year-old man for DUI and possession of an open container following a traffic stop near South Greeley Highway.

At 12:17 a.m., Deputy Budde stopped a black Chevy SUV for speeding and contacted the driver, who displayed signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol. An open container was visible in the center console. After conducting field sobriety tests, deputies determined the driver was too impaired to operate the vehicle safely.

He was placed in handcuffs, taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and booked on DUI and open container charges.


DUI and Rollover Crash, near County Road 162, Feb. 8, LCSO

Laramie County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 30-year-old man for DUI, his second offense in 10 years, and careless driving following a rollover crash near County Road 162.

At 4:45 p.m., Deputy Mershon responded to assist as a drug recognition expert after the suspect admitted to driving during the crash. The man exhibited signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and poor balance. A preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.155%.

After being medically cleared at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, he was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and booked on DUI and careless driving charges.


DUI and Interference with Police, near Parson Street, Feb. 8, PBPD

Pine Bluffs police arrested a 34-year-old man for DUI and interference with a peace officer after responding to a disturbance near Parson Street.

At 3 a.m., Officer Miller arrived at the Knotty Pine Saloon, where staff reported a man attempting to enter after closing. The officer observed the suspect driving in reverse before striking a curb. Upon contact, the driver showed signs of intoxication and refused to complete field sobriety tests. After declining a blood test under implied consent, a search warrant was obtained.

The suspect resisted arrest by kicking at officers and bracing against entry into the patrol vehicle. He was taken into custody and booked at the Laramie County Detention Center.


DUI and Failure to Maintain Lane, near Yellowstone Road, Feb. 9, LCSO

Laramie County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 71-year-old man for DUI and failure to maintain a lane after he was observed driving erratically near Yellowstone Road.

At 6:32 p.m., Sergeant Gillott witnessed a white Ford F-150 straddling lanes and making a left turn in front of oncoming traffic, causing vehicles to slow to avoid a collision. Upon stopping the driver, deputies observed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and difficulty maintaining balance. The driver admitted to drinking and refused to continue field sobriety tests, stating he was intoxicated.

After declining a breath test, deputies obtained a search warrant for a legal blood draw. The man was taken into custody and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.


Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Driving, near West 5th Street, Feb. 7, CPD

Cheyenne police cited a 23-year-old Missouri man for fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and multiple traffic violations following a pursuit near West 5th Street.

At 11:38 p.m., Officer Tretter attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a truck driving recklessly, but the driver failed to yield, leading to a pursuit. The chase ended in the 6600 block of South Greeley Highway, where the driver was taken into custody.

Additional charges included speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign, possession of an open container and driving with a revoked license. The man was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.
