DUI, Christensen Road, March 1, CPD
A 44-year-old woman was arrested March 1 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing or attempting to elude police officers, failing to maintain a single lane of travel and careless driving.
The suspect was pulled over by Cheyenne police at about 10:23 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Christensen Road for a suspected DUI. A motorcyclist had reported that the suspect was driving with two flat tires, was swerving all over the road and appeared intoxicated.
The suspect was driving a black 2014 Toyota Highlander and failed to yield to the officer’s emergency lights and sirens for a short distance before pulling over west of Reese Road. The officer noted the woman had difficulty getting out of the vehicle, walking and following instructions. She nearly fell when walking toward the officer’s patrol vehicle, a booking sheet states.
The suspect had slurred speech, was unsteady on her feet and smelled strongly of alcohol. She was placed in handcuffs and refused to complete Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. She initially agreed to take a breath test and was taken to the Cheyenne Police Department.
Upon arriving at the police department, the suspect revoked consent for the breath test. She was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where a warrant was issued for a blood draw.
She was then transported to Laramie County Jail, where she became uncooperative with deputies at the jail and was placed in a cell.
