Laramie County Crime Clips (3/3/25–3/5/25)

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Names for misdemeanor citations have been removed.

Speeding, Interstate 80, March 3, WHP

A Seatac, Washington, man was arrested on March 3 for driving without an ignition interlock device, illegal lane use and speeding.  

A Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper stopped a white U-Haul box truck driven by the 34-year-old man for speeding and failing to maintain a single lane of travel. The stop occurred at mile marker 357 on Interstate 80 eastbound.  

The man’s driver’s license was suspended, and he was required to have an ignition interlock device installed in his vehicle.  

The man was cooperative during the arrest and was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.  

Drug Possession, Thomes Avenue, March 3, CPD

A Cheyenne woman was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop March 3.  

A Cheyenne Police Department officer stopped a red Kia for not having a rear windshield. The driver, a 26-year-old woman, was pulled over near the intersection of Thomes Avenue and West 5th Street.  

A K-9 unit alerted to the presence of drugs inside the vehicle. During a search, officers found an orange pill with the Bitcoin logo in a plastic bag inside the woman’s wallet. The pill was believed to be MDMA.  

She was arrested and placed in handcuffs. She was taken to the police department for an interview with detectives. Before the interview, she said she had something in her pants. She then retrieved a small bag with a white crystal substance, believed to be methamphetamine, from her pants, a booking sheet states.

She was booked into the Laramie County Jail on charges of possession of MDMA and methamphetamine.

Fighting, West Lincolnway, March 4, CPD

A Cheyenne man was arrested early Tuesday morning after an altercation at a local bar.

A Cheyenne Police Department officer was on patrol when they observed an altercation outside of Crown Bar at 12:35 a.m.  

The bartender told police that the 33-year-old suspect was intoxicated and had been spitting blood on other customers. When the bartender confronted him, the man allegedly made a threatening gesture toward him. The bartender then struck him in the face in self-defense, and other patrons escorted him out of the bar, according to a booking sheet.  

The officer made contact with the suspect outside the establishment and saw signs of intoxication. He was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident.  

The man was charged with public intoxication and fighting/causing a disturbance.
