CASPER, Wyo. — Images from home surveillance video led police to a suspect in multiple burglaries this week in Cheyenne, according to a release by the Cheyenne Police Department on Thursday.
On Wednesday, March 12, police were dispatched to a report of a burglary at a residence on the 2700 block of Olive Drive. Responding officers found that the house was broken into and an item was stolen from inside, the release said.
Two burglaries were reported in the same neighborhood the day before. A citizen captured surveillance video of the suspect and posted a photo on social media. The photo led to several tips that identified the suspect as a 16-year-old male from Cheyenne.
The teen was arrested without incident and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on charges related to the burglary.
“If your property was burglarized and you have not reported it to police, please contact the dispatch center at 307-637-6525. Anyone with additional information or surveillance video is encouraged to contact the Detective Bureau at 307-637-6513,” the release said.
