CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Laramie County School District 1 has announced an improvement in its four-year graduation rate for the 2023–24 school year. Data released by the Wyoming Department of Education reveal a rate of 79.3%, a 1.9% increase from the previous school year.

The announcement comes on the heels of a graduation rate declaration by the Wyoming Department of Education, which reported Wednesday that the four-year on-time high school graduation rate remained “relatively consistent” for the school year, with a rate of 81.6%. That’s a slight increase, of 0.2%, from 2022–23’s rate of 81.4%.

LCSD1 highlighted significant gains at Triumph High School, which saw a 13.4% increase in graduates. Students with Individualized Education Programs also demonstrated improved success, with a 3.6% rise in their graduation rate.

LCSD1 officials credited the collaborative efforts of staff and families for the positive trend. “We would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our staff as they partnered with our families to keep the graduation of our students as one of our primary goals,” the district stated.

While celebrating the progress, LCSD1 emphasized its commitment to supporting students who haven’t yet graduated. The district noted that schools are continuing to work with students to complete their graduation requirements, and some students have already earned their diplomas since the initial data collection.

“We recognize there are areas of opportunity for growth, and we will continue to address these challenges,” the district said.
