Carey Junior High’s McGinnis is Student of the Week for March 3

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Teagun McGinnis, a seventh-grade student at Carey Junior High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of March 3.

McGinnis was selected for her academic performance and maintains a 4.0 GPA. According to her teachers, she is an active participant in class discussions and approaches each day with an open attitude.

McGinnis is known for helping her peers with challenging assignments. Classmates often seek her advice and look up to her as a role model.

In her free time, McGinnis enjoys playing violin, drawing and writing short stories. Following graduation, she plans on attending college to study music or veterinary medicine.

McGinnis selected Todd Jonas as her favorite teacher.

“Mr. Jonas does a great job of giving me challenges when I need them,” McGinnis said. “His teaching style works well with how I perceive things and he makes his class fun.”
