CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Sebastian Portillo-Ibanez, a senior at Triumph High School, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of March 10.
Portillo-Ibanez was selected by the committee for his academic performance, positive behavior and ability to overcome adversity. He maintains high grades and is enrolled in classes at Laramie County Community College, allowing him to graduate early.
According to Triumph Principal Troy Lake, Portillo-Ibanez demonstrates a natural talent for fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Following graduation, Portillo-Ibanez plans to pursue a career in welding and dreams of traveling the world.
Portillo-Ibanez selected Emily Sackett as his favorite teacher because she has been supportive and has helped him better understand math.
