Casper Police Officer transported to hospital after cruiser struck by truck

The Casper Police Department says that a garbage truck struck a Casper PD vehicle that was responding to an emergency call, as well as two other vehicles, in a crash at CY Avenue and Wyoming Boulevard in Casper.

CASPER, Wyo. —  The Casper Police Department says that a garbage truck struck a Casper PD vehicle that was responding to an emergency call, as well as two other vehicles, in a crash at CY Avenue and Wyoming Boulevard in Casper.

“At 1:56 pm Casper Police responded to the intersection of CY Avenue and SW Wyoming Boulevard in Casper for a report of a car accident with potential injuries,” Casper PD says. “A Casper Police Officer was responding to an emergent call with lights and sirens on, traveling eastbound on CY Ave, when a garbage truck, traveling north on Wyoming Boulevard hit the police car.”

The truck also reportedly struck two other vehicles. The driver of three of the vehicles has been transported to the hospital, including the Casper Police Officer.

The condition of the fourth driver was not reported by Casper PD.

“The crash investigation is ongoing and the intersection is anticipated to remain closed for the next hour,” Casper PD reported at 2:41 pm.
