The Greybull, Wyoming Police Department says that one of their own officers was able to act quickly and assist with a driver having a medical situation in mid-October.
According to a written statement published online, Greybull PD Officer Chris Ford is said to have attempted to make a traffic stop on a suspect intoxicated driver. However, when Ford exited his patrol vehicle, he found something unexpected.
“Upon approaching the vehicle, Officer Ford realized that the female driver was having a medical emergency,” Greybull PD said Wednesday. “Without hesitation, Officer Ford radioed his dispatch to send an ambulance to his location.”
Officer Ford reportedly stayed with the female for over twenty minutes waiting for the ambulance.
“When he observed a different ambulance passing by on an adjacent street. Officer Ford then alerted the ambulance to respond to his location,” Greybull PD reports.
The female was reportedly careflighted to a Denver hospital and was treated for a stroke.
Greybull PD said that the treatment the woman underwent saved her life.
