LARAMIE, Wyo. — A driver was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Nov. 19 after losing control of their vehicle on slippery roads. Three others in the crash were hospitalized.
The wreck occurred when 18-year-old Texas resident Gabriel Soria Bacani was driving too fast for the road surface conditions on US 287 near Laramie.
Bacani’s car lost traction on the slippery road surface while negotiating a curve to the right. As the car began spinning clockwise, Bacani overcorrected, causing the car to leave the road before swerving back into the median. After sliding into the median, the vehicle completed at least one complete rollover, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
the WHP reports that in addition to the road conditions being a contributing factor, a seatbelt was not in use at the time.
