WHP: Victim named in deadly Cheyenne motorcycle crash

CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Highway Patrol has released the name of the victim in a deadly motorcycle crash in Cheyenne last week.

According to a preliminary report by the WHP, Wyoming resident Daniel Merrill, 25, died in the crash with a truck after midnight on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024.

The report said that the motorcycle was heading south on Wyoming Highway 212 College Drive at milepost 6.1 in the right lane when it rear-ended a Dodge Dakota. The crash resulted in one fatality and one injury.

The report says that no helmet was in use, roads were wet and conditions were clear. No contributing factor was listed, and there was no information on the status of the injured person.
