CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A 20-year-old Wyoming man has died following a collision in Weston County.
Shannon Amos died following a crash that occurred at 8:20 a.m. close to milepost 220.8, per the Department of Transportation. Amos was a passenger riding in a pickup truck headed west on US Highway 16 when the driver crossed over the entrance of the Upton Rest Area and left the roadway. The vehicle then collided with a tree on its passenger-side door, causing the vehicle to roll onto its roof.
The 20-year-old was not wearing a seat belt, according to the DOT report. Three other people were reported injured. The state transportation department believes the crash was caused by driver fatigue or the driver being asleep.
