General election polls now closed; view live results here

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — With election polls having closed at 7 p.m. Tuesday, election workers are now earnestly counting ballots and tallying results.

Cap City News will be providing updates here throughout the night on election projections from the Associated Press, as well as final election results.


1:30 a.m., Nov. 6

  • Trump clinched 67% of the votes in Laramie County, marking an increase in support among residents compared to the 2016 and 2020 elections.

1:20 a.m., Nov. 6

  • Kamala Harris has risen to 224 electoral votes.
  • Scott Cherek won the only contested seat open for the Laramie County Conservation District.

1:10 a.m., Nov. 6

  • Incumbents Jeff White and Pete Laybourn reclaimed their seats on Cheyenne City Council for Ward I.
  • Incumbent Tom Segrave will serve a fourth term on Cheyenne City Council for Ward II. Kathy Emmons earned enough votes to claim the ward’s other unclaimed seat.
  • Michelle Aldrich was reelected to Cheyenne City Council for Ward III. Meanwhile, newcomer Mark Moody will be joining the board.

12:20 a.m., Nov. 6

  • Donald Trump has risen to 267 electoral votes. To win the race, he must reach 270 votes.
  • Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins was chosen by voters to serve a second term.
  • Alicia Smith, Brittany Ashby and Barbara Cook won the votes to join the Laramie County School Board 1 Board of Trustees.
  • Jess Ketcham, Wendy Soto, Bob Salazar and Don Erickson were reelected to the Laramie County Community College Board of Trustees.

11:25 p.m., Nov. 5

  • Kamala Harris has risen to 214 electoral votes.
  • Donald Trump has risen to 247 electoral votes.

11 p.m., Nov. 5

  • The AP has called the House District 10 race for John Eklund
  • The AP has called the House District 42 race for Rob Geringer

10:15 p.m., Nov. 5

  • Kamala Harris has risen to 210 electoral votes.

10 p.m., Nov. 5

  • Kamala Harris has risen to 209 electoral votes.

9:45 p.m., Nov. 5

  • Kamala Harris has risen to 205 electoral votes.
