CHEYENNE, Wyo. — One airman died and another was injured in a “Humvee incident” in Grover, Colorado, on Saturday, Sept. 16, according to F.E. Warren Air Force Base.
Details about the incident and the identity of the airmen have not yet been provided. In its announcement, the base said the deceased’s identity was being withheld for 24 hours after next-of-kin notification. Details about the incident will be released as they become available.
A security forces airman assigned to the Cheyenne base and another was injured in the 7:30 p.m. incident, according to the announcement.
“The second Airman involved was not seriously injured, and the cause of the incident is under investigation,” the announcement states.
“We are mourning the loss of our Airman, and our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of those affected by this tragic event,” said Col. Johnny Galbert, 90th Missile Wing commander.
