Governor orders Wyoming flag to be flown at half-staff July 27

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Gov. Mark Gordon has ordered that the Wyoming State Flag be flown at half staff at the State Capitol Building in Cheyenne as well as in Goshen, Niobrara and Platte counties from sunrise to sunset Saturday.

The flag will be lowered halfway in honor and memory of Russell Zimmer, who served in the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1973 to 1976 and in the Wyoming Senate from 1977 to 1992. During his time in the State Legislature, he acted as senate vice president, majority floor leader and senate president. Zimmer passed away July 12.

This notice only applies to the Wyoming State Flag and only at the four locations noted. Other flags should remain at full staff.
