CHEYENNE, Wyo. — As significant wildfires continue to rage on, Gov. Mark Gordon has extended his executive order easing restrictions for agricultural producers.
“The extension of this EO allows our ranchers to continue to move their livestock to safety quickly and expedites bringing in necessary feed,” Gordon said in a news release. “It is clear wildfires threaten livelihoods, and we need to do all we can to aid recovery.”
The governor initially enacted his executive order in late August. Wyoming is still experiencing multiple fire starts weekly due to prime weather conditions such as rising heat, dry air and high winds.
“We must be conscientious of the conditions and the impact [that] even an act as small as sighting in your rifle on a dry grassland can have on our neighbors and state,” Gordon added.
