CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The City of Cheyenne has announced that The Mayor’s Youth Council and Special Friends program in conjunction with The Paul Smith Children’s Village will be hosting a holiday cookie decorating activity from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 14th.
This event will take place at The Paul Smith Children’s Village (710 S. Lions Park Dr.) and it invites children and their parents to join members of The Mayor’s Youth Council and Special Friends in decorating cookies, participating in holiday activities and coloring books.
The Mayor’s Youth Council and Special Friends are programs of The City of Cheyenne and the offices of Youth Alternatives.
The Mayor’s Youth Council is in its 19th year and is made up of high school age children who are given a hands-on experiences of meeting with The Mayor, planning projects, attending City Council meetings and learning about municipal government.
Special Friends is a mentor program that provides adult volunteers for youth age six to 14 in the community who would benefit from having a positive role model in their lives. Mentors spend up to three hours a week with their matched young people to provide a consistent and caring relationship.
There is no cost to attend the holiday cookie decorating event and all of the cookies, frosting and decorations will be provided.
