CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Cheyenne City Council voted to refer a proposed annexation of a 75 acre parcel of land near the I-25 and Missile Drive Interchange to their Public Services Committee.
This undeveloped land within this proposal of annexation is situated between Old Happy Jack Road and Happy Jack Road. The land is owned by The United States Government as part of The F.E. Warren Air Force Base.
A portion of this land has been used for parking during Cheyenne Frontier Days.
While there are no specific plans for what a future development on this land may look like, the proposal states that, “This property, once developed, will constitute a natural, geographic, economic, and social part of the City.”
“A portion of this land has been utilized during major Cheyenne events for parking,” the proposal continues. “The property is adjacent to a freeway interchange, and properties on the other side of the interchange are already within City limits.”
“Residents living here will likely work in the Cheyenne area and will be a part of the social and economic fabric that is Cheyenne. Employers at this location will likely hire employees which live within Cheyenne City limits.”
The council’s decision to refer the item to the Public Services Committee came during their Monday, Dec. 9 meeting.
