City of Cheyenne announces 'Shadows' photography contest

CHEYENNE, Wyo. The Community & Events Department has announced that their “Shadows” photo contest will be held January 9th through February 12th, 2020 at the Cheyenne Civic Center.

The announcement says that there are a variety of categories for photographers to enter that include:

  • Youth (12 & Under, 13-17)
  • Amateur
  • Intermediate
  • Semi-Professional
  • Professional
  • Enhanced photography

The announcement goes on to say that contest is limited to the first 150 photos and that rosette ribbons and cash prizes will be awarded.

The “Shadows” Theme of the contest is designed to showcase the beauty/illusion of what shadows cast upon the eye and imagination.

Brochure and entry forms with detailed information can be picked up at the Kiwanis Community House (4603 Lions Park Dr.) or on www.cheyennerec.org. Registration is going on now until January 3rd. Register from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Kiwanis Community House.

Entry fee is $5.00 per photo; three entry max. Photo drop-off will be January 6th, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne Civic Center.

A reception will be held January 8th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne Civic Center, located at 510 W 20th street, that will be hosted by the Programs & Facilities Division.
