Rossman Elementary student wins Wyoming peace poster contest

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Laramie County School District No.1 has announced that Rossman Elementary sixth-grade student Alyssa Valdez was selected as this year’s Lions Club International Peace Poster contest winner for Wyoming.

According to the Lions Club International, the Peace Poster Contest was created in 1988 to give young people the opportunity to creatively express their feelings for world peace and to share their visions with the world.

They say that approximately 600,000 children from 75 countries participate in the contest annually.

The grand prize winner receives a trip to an award ceremony where he/she will receive a cash award of $5,000 (or local equivalent) and an award.
