Laramie County Sheriff's Office receives $85k donation for active shooter equipment (PHOTOS)

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Thanks to a donation from the law enforcement advocacy group, Shield 616, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) was able to acquire 85k in active shooter equipment.

On their Facebook page the LCSO said, “On Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, there was a ceremony held at Cheyenne Hills Church, where the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office were honored to receive 38 bulletproof vests and helmets for our Deputies. We would like to thank Shield 616 founder and President Jake Skifstad for their generous donation of $85,000 worth of active shooter equipment.

According to their website, Shield 616 was founded to provide all-day rifle protection for peace officers and first responders who sacrificially serve our communities.

“We believe that when our peace officers and first responders are well equipped we will strengthen our nation, states, communities, neighborhoods and families,” a statement on Shield 616’s website says.

The announcement from the LCSO went on to say “We sincerely appreciate your help keeping our deputies and the citizens of Laramie County safe.”
