NWS: Chance of snow and wind gusts of 55 mph possible on Monday night

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Wintery conditions and strong winds are anticipated to return to Cheyenne today.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne says that for the rest of today, Cheyenne can expect a 40 % chance of snow showers with mostly cloudy skies, and a high near 40.

For tonight, the weather report predict an overnight low near 23 with breezy conditions. A south southwest wind of 10 to 15 mph that could become west 20 to 25 mph after midnight is expected. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

On Monday, February 24th, the NWS calls for a 30% chance of snow showers, mainly after 11am with mostly sunny skies and a high near 32. The strong winds are expected to continue with a predicted west northwest wind 35 to 40 mph. Wind gusts as high as 55 mph are possible.

For Monday evening, a 20 percent chance of snow showers is possible after 11pm. with a low near 14. Wind chill values between -5 and 5 are possible, with winds expected to be from the north northwest wind at 25 to 30 mph. Wind gusts as are anticipated to reach as high as 45 mph.

On Tuesday night, the weather service anticipates a 40% chance of snow showers and a high near 22. Windy, with a north northwest wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
