City may hire consultant to assist community programs that serve the poor

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – During their March 9th, 2020, meeting the Cheyenne City Council referred an agreement between the City and the United Way for the possible hiring of a contacted consultant who would help assist various community programs.

According to the proposed agreement, the consultant will provide technical assistance to community programs that provide necessary relief to the poor.

Those agencies include the following:

  • Boys and Girls Club (Youth Development)
  • Special Friends of Cheyenne
  • COMEA Inc. (Emergency Shelter)
  • Healthworks
  • Peak Wellness Inc (Emergency Mental Health)

The proposed agreement says that the consultant will monitor the performance of these community programs and providing an annual written report to the City of Cheyenne on the outcomes of these community programs.

If this agreement is approved, the Consultant will also be responsible for maintaining financial records of disbursement of funds, annual financial statements and monthly balance sheets for the above listed programs.
