CHEYENNE, Wyo. -Laramie County School District Superintendent, Boyd Brown said on Tuesday that any decision to reschedule graduation ceremonies hasn’t been made yet.
Early today, it was announced that due to the COVID-19 closure all proms throughout Laramie County School District 1 had been canceled. According to Dr. Boyd Brown, this decision has been made due to the uncertainty of when large gatherings will be allowed again in the state.
Currently graduations at the four high schools in Cheyenne are set for the following dates:
- Triumph Graduation, May 28th, 2020 @ 4 p.m.
- Central Graduation, May 29th, 2020 @ 4 p.m.
- East High Graduation, May 30th, 2020 @ 10 a.m.
- South Graduation, May 30th, 2020 @ 1 p.m.
“At this point we haven’t rescheduled graduation ceremonies,” Brown said. “However, we could be using some creative options to recognize our graduates.”
The district will be surveying parents and students to provide feedback with this process.
“We recognize these are unprecedented times, especially when it comes to these important milestone celebrations,” Brown said. “We thank community members for their patience as we work through these difficult situations. We are going to get through this together.”
