Cheyenne man accused of strangling, beating victim

A Cheyenne man has been arrested and is facing one felony and two misdemeanors, after it was said that he beat, kicked, and strangled another person. It’s also reported that the suspect walked the accuser approximately a block, while the accuser was in a headlock.

Brad Lee Craft, born in 1995, was arrested following and incident that was reported during the late night hours of May 10, 2020. He faces a felony charge of Strangulation of a Household Member, a felony. He also faces two charges of Domestic Battery.

An affidavit filed in Laramie County Circuit Court says that Craft is accused of becoming confrontational with a household member, throwing them on the ground multiple times, before reportedly picking them up by the hair and saying they were going for a walk.

Craft is further accused of putting the victim in a headlock and marching them for a distance of approximately one block. The accuser said that two different people passed by and that they attempted to ask for help, but neither of the bystanders assisted.

The accuser reports being walked to the area of Mountain Road and King Arthur Way, where they say they were thrown down again and repeatedly kicked by the suspect.

The victim reports screaming for help, but that they were struck in the face with a closed fist, and Craft shouting “shut the f—— up or I will kill you.”

During the altercation it was also said that Craft kneeled on the accuser and wrapped both hands around their neck. The accuser said they were unable to breathe during the exchange.

Ultimately Craft was arrested and transported to the Laramie County Jail. 

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
