Cheyenne theaters to re-open this week, screening classics like ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Grease’

WyoMovies closed their theaters across the state on March 17 due to COVID-19 but are getting ready to re-open some theaters this week.

In Cheyenne, the Capitol Cinema 12 will reopen on Friday, June 19. Theaters in Laramie, Casper and Rock Springs/Green River will also re-open.

While the theaters await the release of new first-run titles, they’ll be screening some classic films. Tickets will be $5 for the classic titles.

From June 19-July 26, WyoMovies will also offer the ability for people to book private screenings of classic titles for 20, 30 or 40 guests.

WyoMovies will be showing the following classic titles:

Titles available June 19-July 1:
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Goonies
Grease
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
Trolls World Tour
Wonder Woman
Batman (1989)
Superman: The Movie (1978)

Titles available June 26-July 2:
The Wizard of Oz
Jurassic Park (1993)
Dirty Dancing
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Goonies
Grease
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
Trolls World Tour

Titles available July 3-9:
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Space Jam
Footloose
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Jurassic Park (1993)

Titles available July 10-16:
Back to the Future
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Selena
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

WyoMovies also list a number of first-run titles to look out for as those are released. Those include:

The theaters will follow safety and cleaning protocols due to COVID-19.

“Please take a moment to review our reopening protocols to prepare for your visit whenever you choose to join us. We’ll be ready when you are,” WyoMovies said in a release announcing their re-opening plans.
