CHEYENNE, WYo. – The iconic amusement park that rests on the edge of downtown Denver has officially ruled out the possibility of any kind of a 2020 season.

Elitch Gardens announced on Friday, July 31st, 2020, that it won’t open at all this year after it was unable to get approval from the state in connection with coronavirus business restrictions.

“In response to the State’s Executive Order prohibiting the operation of amusement parks due to COVID-19 and undetermined timelines for the easing of such restrictions, Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park announced today that it has made the difficult decision to not open for the 2020 season,” officials with Elitch Gardens said in a media release.
