Strong thunderstorm headed for Laramie and Cheyenne Friday night

CHEYENNE, Wyo — National Weather Service is tracking a strong thunderstorm in Albany County moving southeast. Albany and Laramie counties are under a significant weather advisory until 7:45 p.m. Friday night.  Pea size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm.

At 7:04 p.m. the storm was 9 miles south of Rock River, or 26 miles northwest of Laramie, moving southeast at 40 mph.

Impacted areas include Interstate-80 between mile markers 269 and 341.

Areas affected include: Laramie, Rock River,  Tie City Campground, Vedauwoo, Bosler, Tie Siding, University Of Wyoming War Memorial Stadium, Crystal Lake Reservoir, Pumpkin Vine, Crystal Lake Campground, Vedauwoo Campground, Buford, Granite Springs Reservoir, North Crow Campground,

Baldy Peak, Granite Springs Campground, Lake Hattie Reservoir, The Buttes, Arlington and Hutton Lake.
