The Olivia Caldwell Foundation and Stella Strong Fund announced a collective donation of $110,000 to Children’s Hospital of Colorado to support pediatric cancer research.
According to a press release, the donations of $100,000 from Olivia Caldwell Foundation and $10,000 from the Stella Strong Fund took place on Nov. 16.
According to a release issued on Monday, the Stella Strong Fund is specifically focused on finding a cure for DIPG brain cancer, which has a zero percent survival rate.
“After these latest donations we’ve now given an absolutely incredible $525,000 to pediatric cancer research in just seven years,” said Katie Caldwell-Burchett, CEO/Founder of the Olivia Caldwell Foundation in the release.
“We are truly grateful for the community in Casper and beyond who have supported us over the years. It is because of these incredible donors that our research team is saving the lives of children in Wyoming and beyond.”
The foundation and fund were organized in honor of two Wyoming children who succumbed to cancer, Olivia Caldwell and Stella Beard. The Olivia Caldwell Foundation recently opened the Pediatric Specialty Outreach Clinic in Casper to serve local patients and reduce the need to travel to specialty hospitals in Colorado.
