CASPER, Wyo– The Wyoming Department of Corrections announced the death Monday of inmate Steven Michael Newport at age 51.
According to the release Tuesday, Newport died at the Intermountain LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was convicted in 2017 for unlawful manufacture or delivery of schedule II drugs.
The corrections department said an autopsy has been ordered and an investigation is pending.
He was born Oct. 7, 1969, in Long Beach, California.
