Man arrested after high-speed pursuit in Laramie County

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Law enforcement officials say that on December 29, 2020 at 10:48 a.m., Cheyenne Police requested assistance from Laramie County Sheriff’s Deputies for a stolen vehicle in the area of Road 135 and I-80 Service Road.

According to the LCSO, Deputy Konegni and Deputy Stojak, saw the stolen Hyundai Sonata on Road 135 and attempted to stop the vehicle.

“The driver of the Hyundai fled from deputies at a high rate of speed in excess of 80 mph. before turning into Cherry Hills Estates,” authorities went on to say,

The LCSO reported that Deputy Jacquot saw the Hyundai in the area of Christensen Road and Beckle Road driving through a field. Deputies continued to pursue the Hyundai onto Dell Range Boulevard, and terminated the pursuit at Flaming Gorge.

Cheyenne Police and Wyoming Highway Patrol continued to pursue the vehicle. According to officials, the Wyoming Highway Patrol located the abandoned Hyundai on West Prosser and South Greeley Highway.

“The suspect was located near the greenway north of West College Drive, and taken into custody where he is being held at the Laramie County Detention on multiple charges,” the LCSO said.
