CASPER, Wyo. — The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said on Tuesday that they received a call at around 4:30 pm Feb. 13 due to two juvenile snowmobilers having become separated from their group near Slash Ridge in the Medicine Bow National Forest.
CCSO along with the Saratoga, Ryan Park and Encampment Search and Rescue teams responded.
While the teams were responding, CCSO said that “it was reported that an adult male with the group had gone out in search of the missing juveniles and become lost himself.”

The missing juveniles, however, were able to make phone contact with their grandmother who was among the group. They were able to speak with CCSO Deputy on Command Patrick Patterson and provide their location.
While the search and rescue teams were en route to recover the missing juveniles, CCSO said they were “notified that all missing parties had been located.”
“They were able to build a fire to keep warm until recovered,” CCSO said. “All parties were returned safely and without injury.”
