Police department to apply for grant to help fund D.U.I Command vehicle expenses

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Cheyenne Police Department is looking to apply for a grant for funds that would be used to reimburse of expenses related to the their mobile D.U.I. command vehicle.

The resolution that would approve the CPD application for the grant was referred to the Finance Committee for further discussion during the March 21st, 2021, Cheyenne City Council meeting.

“The related expenses include overtime for the operation of the Mobile D.U.I. Command Vehicle, training expenses, travel expenses, and expenses for media campaigns related to D.U.I enforcement,” the resolution stated.

According to the proposed resolution, the Cheyenne Police Department will be required to provide an in-kind match to be eligible for grant funding and the Cheyenne Police Department agrees to provide the in-kind match by providing a secure location for the storage of the Mobile D.U.I. Command Vehicle.

The CPD would also need to have regularly scheduled maintenance of the vehicle, the vehicle generator, and vehicle equipment.

The estimated value of this in-kind match is Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00).
