Wyomingites encouraged to take #SafePlaceSelfie to prepare for severe weather

CASPER, Wyo. — The National Weather Service in Cheyenne say that Wednesday, April 7 is #SafePlaceSelfie day. They are encouraging people to take a photo of themselves in a safe place they can go to during severe weather.

“The goal of this special day is for folks to find a safe space in your house/apartment in the event of severe weather,” the NWS in Cheyenne said.

The NWS in Cheyenne shared a photo of their staff and said they had packed water and some food items for the interior room which has no windows.

“Do you know your safe space?” the NWS in Cheyenne asked. “When thunder roars, go indoors!”

People can post their own photos in response to the NWS in Cheyenne’s Twitter post.
