CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Get ready to ride along the Greater Cheyenne Greenway with the Kid’s Bike Safety Rodeo.
Riders and coaches from the Cheyenne Middle and High School Mountain Bike Team, Team WyoX, will be helping kids in Cheyenne learn important bike safety skills.
There will be stations to help the kids get their bikes ready for the summer, including stations to fit helmets and adjust them; fit for seat height, brake, and shift leavers; perform bike mechanical inspections; and teach bike etiquette and hand signals.
There will also be lessons on how to balance on a bike, how to start and stop, how to ride straight, and scan the environment around you while riding. These skills will be tested with a slow race and obstacle course, a news release states.
This event is scheduled for 1–3 p.m. June 4 at North Cheyenne Community Park, 3200 Mynear St.
Kids are asked to bring their bikes to the event.
