CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Aurora Catrina Soto will be representing Cheyenne in the Toddler Division at the Little Miss Wyoming State Pageant this week.
The Little Miss Wyoming State Pageant has been going on for 17 years as a nonprofit youth scholarship pageant for girls ages 0–15.
It has competitions that include interviews, casual wear, party dress, photogenic, personality, talent, community service and academic excellence. There are five divisions in which Wyoming girls can participate: Tiny Miss, Tot Miss, Little Miss, Preteen Miss and Teen Miss.
Aurora will be competing in the Tot Miss, which is for ages 3–6.
Aurora is 4 years old and was born and raised in Cheyenne. She is bilingual in Spanish and English and likes to sing and ride horses. When she grows up, she wants to be a Cheyenne police officer.
She is supported in her pageant journey by her mother, Alexis Soto-Quezada; her father, Robert Hernandez; and her stepfather; Oscar Jesus Quezada-Lopez.
“We’re just super excited,” Soto-Quezada said. “We just want to show Aurora and other little girls that you can be a Wyoming cowgirl, you don’t have to fit a certain look.”
Aurora will be competing in the competition from June 16 through June 20 in Sheridan. The event will take place at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham at 1809 Sugarland Drive.
