CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Zonta Club of Cheyenne is holding an art contest for community members.
“Stop the madness from spreading” is the contest’s theme and is intended to help raise awareness about interpersonal violence and its long-term impact on families, children and learned behavior.
The three categories to enter in are below age 15, ages 15–18 and above age 18.
In each category, first place will receive a prize of $200 and second place will receive $100.
Artwork should be submitted no later than May 15 at 4 p.m. Most types of art are welcomed, but no performance art.
Applicants should include their name, contract information, age category and price, if for sale. Brief interpretive commentary on the art is welcomed but not required.
Art should be dropped off at RE/MAX Capitol Properties, 4000 Central Ave.
A public reception will be held May 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Cheyenne Civic Center. Art will be displayed beginning May 18 for one week.
