CODY, Wyo. — Sitti’s Table, a downtown Cody eatery, is set to make an appearance on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20.

The café, known for breakfast, lunch and takeout fare, welcomed host Guy Fieri this past June, according to a press release by the café.

“It was a lot of fun to meet Guy Fieri and make a few of our signature dishes for him,” owner Porter Koury said. She and her husband, Jake Scott, run the establishment. “He was so great to us, our staff, and our customers, and we’re so grateful and excited to be featured on his show.”

The interview

The team’s culinary prowess didn’t go unnoticed. They were later invited to whip up dishes, including lamb pita and an Italian sandwich variant, for another of Fieri’s shows, “Guy’s Family Road Trip,” at Yellowstone Valley Inn in Wapiti. That episode is scheduled to air next summer.

The memorable moment during Fieri’s visit was when Koury’s 97-year-old grandmother, Marie Koury, interacted with him. Fondly called Rie-Rie, she inspired the café’s name: “Sitti” translates to “grandmother” in Lebanese. The establishment reflects Middle Eastern and Mediterranean culinary influences, some from time-honored family recipes.

Fieri’s spontaneous half-hour interview with Rie-Rie was a unique occurrence.

“The banter between Guy and Rie-Rie had us all cracking up,” Koury said.

Both shared a mutual respect for using culinary talents to unite people. Fieri’s commitment to spotlighting family businesses aligned with Rie-Rie’s philanthropic gestures from her cookbook sales.

Koury and Scott aren’t strangers to celebrity visits. Actor Will Ferrell dropped by last summer, and record executive Damon Dash is a regular. Additionally, the duo catered for rapper Kanye West for almost a year through their Laughing Pig catering venture.

Opened in May 2022, Sitti’s Table also offers gourmet groceries and speciality items, emphasizing fresh and sustainable ingredients. They operate from Tuesday to Saturday.

“Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives,” hosted by Fieri since 2007, has spotlighted over 800 eateries nationwide.
