UPDATE, 1:55 p.m.: Police say no evidence corroborating the threat has been identified.
CASPER, Wyo. — A heavy police presence and some evacuations are reported at the Eastridge Mall on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
Online threats were reported by the corporate office at 10:45 a.m., according to a statement to Oil City News by Casper Police Department spokesperson Amber Freestone.
Freestone said that decisions to evacuate have been made by businesses, not police. One vendor reached out to Oil City to say that mall management had advised them to close.
Oil City News has contacted mall management for any further clarification.
Notably, unsubstantiated threats were also reported in Laramie and Cheyenne Tuesday by University of Wyoming and Cheyenne Police Department officials, respectively. There is no word yet from officials linking these events.
More information may be released as it becomes available.
