CHEYENNE, Wyo. — While it’s just over a week too late for a white Christmas, Cheyenne-area residents could see some snow this coming weekend, according to reports from the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.
Before that, though, the forecast calls for a windy but sunny Saturday. The NWS in Cheyenne predicts a high temperature near 32 degrees, but strong winds are likely to make conditions feel as cold as 0–10 degrees throughout the day. According to the NWS in Cheyenne, winds should move in from the west at high speeds, reaching about 30 mph.
Tonight will see mostly cloudy conditions in the area as temperatures fall to a low of around 15. However, winds are expected to die down in the evening, too. After sundown, winds are anticipated to reach just 5–10 mph.
Sunday will begin with a 20% chance of snow showers in the mid- to late morning, primarily after 11 a.m.
As day shifts to evening and then night, though, the chance of snow will become a likelihood. According to the NWS in Cheyenne, the chance of snowfall will grow from 20% to 70% in the evening.
Sunday night will likely be blustery, with a north wind of 15–20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70%.
