Nevada resident dies in snowy crash on I-25 in Johnson County

KAYCEE, Wyo. — A Nevada resident has died in a crash on Interstate 25 near Kaycee in Johnson County. The accident occurred at around 11:05 p.m. March 31, when a Mazda B4000 pickup veered off the icy road and rolled over.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol reported that the vehicle, carrying two individuals, was northbound on I-25 when it entered a snowstorm. According to authorities, the pickup slid on an icy bridge deck at milepost 261.43, losing traction and stability. The vehicle rolled 2.5 times: icy road conditions, weather and speed were listed as possible contributing factors.

52-year-old passenger Brian Cota from Nevada succumbed to injuries sustained in the rollover. The other party involved escaped unharmed.
