CASPER, Wyo. — Today, the Wyoming Department of Corrections announced the death of inmate Mark Wilkening at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Facility in Torrington.
Wilkening died Tuesday, July 30, according to the release. He was 59 years old and was born Jan. 4, 1965, in Brockton, Massachusetts.
Wilkening was sentenced to life in prison by Judge Spangler in Natrona County for first-degree sexual assault, the WDOC release said.
“Per WDOC policy an autopsy will be conducted to determine a cause of death,” the WDOC said, adding that the department does not release protected health information.
