CASPER, Wyo. — Incumbent U.S. Sen. John Barrasso earned his party’s nomination in Tuesday’s primary election, and will advance to face Democrat Scott Morrow in November’s general election, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s Office.
Barrasso is running for his fourth term and faced challengers Reid Rasner and John Holtz for the Republican nomination.
Results are considered unofficial until certified by the county and state canvassing boards.
Republican Primary
- John Barrasso: 70,473 votes
- Reid Rasner: 25,424 votes
- John Holtz: 7,867 votes
Scott Morrow ran unopposed for the Democratic Party nomination.
Barrasso has been a member of the U.S. Senate since 2007. Since then, he has served on the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, the Committee on Finance and the Committee on Foreign Relations.
