CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Laramie County Library will soon be opening earlier in the morning to local residents.
The library announced Tuesday that its hours of operation will shift starting Nov. 4. The new hours are as follows:
- Monday–Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday–Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This adjustment comes in response to numerous requests from patrons for earlier opening times. The new schedule intends to provide more regular hours throughout the week, reduce confusion and make it easier for patrons to plan their visits, particularly on weekends.
“By opening our doors earlier and providing a more consistent schedule, we hope to make the library’s resources and services more accessible to residents of Laramie County and visitors from anywhere,” said Jesse Dorst, the library’s community and media relations manager, in a news release.
Currently, the library opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The facility will open at the same time Fridays and Saturdays but close an hour earlier compared to now. Sunday’s hours will see a significant change, as the building is currently only open from 1 to 5 p.m. on that day.
While the library hours are changing, its meeting room policy will remain the same. Meeting rooms will continue to be available for reservation during library hours, with the Willow and Cottonwood rooms available for use outside of normal operating hours.
