CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A Cheyenne school went into lockdown Thursday after a report was made regarding possible possession of a gun.
This afternoon, Cheyenne police officers were dispatched to a verbal disturbance near East High School, 2800 E. Pershing Blvd. During the call, a school resource officer received a report that a student was carrying a firearm. Officers were able to locate the student and quickly determined that there was no evidence of a gun in his possession.
Out of an abundance of caution, East High School was placed into a lockdown. Officers do not believe there to be a threat to the public. Additional updates will be provided as they become available.
