CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The city of Cheyenne Sanitation Division will wrap up its 2024 residential yard waste program during the week of Nov. 18–22. Residents should note that the last scheduled pickup for branches is set for Nov. 21. Those seeking branch removal need to contact the Sanitation Division to join the final collection schedule of the season.
While curbside yard waste services will pause until next spring, residents can still dispose of yard waste year-round at the Compost Facility, located at 3714 Windmill Road. The facility is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, although large loads must arrive by 4:30 p.m. to ensure processing.
Residents seeking more information can reach the Sanitation Division at 307-637-6440, visit cheyennecity.org/publicworks or download the Recycle Coach app. The app provides notifications on any schedule changes and other collection details, according to a press release by the city.
The city will also adjust trash, recycling and yard waste pickup services for Veterans Day. Those with regular Monday pickups, including yard waste, will have service rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9. Containers should be set out by 6 a.m. on that date.
The Solid Waste Transfer Station at 220 N. College Drive and the Happy Jack Landfill will close on Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day and will reopen the following day. Additionally, the Compost Facility and Household Hazardous Waste drop-off will close on both Nov. 11 and Nov. 12, resuming services on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
As a reminder, the Sanitation Division asks residents to keep recycling loose and unbagged, ensure cardboard boxes are cut down to 2 feet by 2 feet, bag all trash to reduce windblown litter and avoid placing branches, bags or tumbleweeds in yard waste containers.
