CASPER, Wyo. — Natrona County Coroner James Whipps has identified the victim of a Wednesday evening shooting in east Casper as 16-year-old Riley Jacob Sears of Casper.
“An autopsy is pending and next of kin have been notified,” said a release from the coroner’s office on Thursday. A joint investigation with the Casper Police Department is ongoing and further information surrounding the circumstances will be released at a later time, the release said.
A Casper teen, 18-year-old Luka Rasmussen, was charged Thursday with involuntary manslaughter in the death.
“The Casper Police Department extends our deepest sympathies to the family of the victim involved in this case. We are committed to continue providing dedicated protection and safety to Our Community,” CPD Lt. Jeff Bullard told Oil City News in a statement.
