CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Two weather systems are currently in fast approach of the Cheyenne area this week, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne. The first, however, only presents mostly advisory conditions and lots of wind.
Gusts today could peak as high as 55 mph, which are likely the strongest winds Cheyenne residents will be exposed to for the remainder of this week. A 20% chance of precipitation does currently remain in the Cheyenne area through the rest of today, however.
The majority of the week’s precipitation will likely follow the second of the two local systems making their way for southeast Wyoming. The second, which should hit Cheyenne late Wednesday night, immediately increases the area’s chance for snow to 50%. That likelihood will continue to increase through the entirety of Thursday. Thursday night, the chance is all the way up to 90%.
Friday will also likely see snowfall, though the daily temp will be increasing by then. Weather systems can’t tell what day of the week it is, but this one is hanging it up by Friday for a peaceful weekend in Cheyenne. Saturday’s high will be back to the 40s, while Sunday’s will shoot up to 52 degrees.
